Mosaic magic

Here’s some good bathroom design advice from the lifestyle section of a newspaper in North Carolina, USA:
Mosaic tiles will add new life to bathroom
Today we are witnessing a mosaic renaissance, particularly in the bathroom. With an ever-expanding stock of tiny tiles that complement and highlight any style, you can create a decadent Roman spa, a period black-and-white bathroom or a contemporary Zen retreat.
Colored glass and porcelain tiles in myriad color combinations can be applied to every surface — countertops, backsplashes, as well as floors and walls. Choose less-expensive tiles for the bulk of the project and then accent with a few well-placed luxury tiles. Stainless steel, copper or chrome, and even semiprecious stone tiles add distinctive detail and sparkle and can be most effective when inserted within a simple background.
New pebble shapes and rounded tiles contribute a softer impact — a perfect solution for a seashore mood. Read the whole column here…
If you’ve been bitten by the mosaic bug, take a look at B&Q’s mosaic tile range or check out these lovely glass tiles from Presley’s.
Or for a really special handmade piece, try Vic’s Mosaics. We like Vic (we built her website) and we think her work really is something special…
